Q1: Who can apply to become a Featured Studio on Design Studiofolio™?
A: Design Studiofolio™ welcomes design studios of varying sizes and disciplines from around the world. Studios should demonstrate a clear design philosophy, a professional practice, and a body of work aligned with our curatorial focus.

There is no minimum size requirement. Editorial review considers the maturity, clarity, and relevance of a studio’s practice rather than years of operation alone.

Q2: What does it mean to be a Featured Studio?
A: A Featured Studio is a studio that has been approved through editorial review to participate in the Design Studiofolio™ platform. Featured Studios may submit projects for editorial consideration and may be considered for a Studiofolio publication, subject to suitability and editorial direction.

Becoming a Featured Studio does not automatically result in project publication or a Studiofolio feature.

Q3: What is the difference between a Studiofolio and a project feature?
A: A Studiofolio is a magazine-style, editorially structured publication dedicated to a single design studio. Developed as an archival monograph, it presents a long-form narrative exploring the studio’s philosophy, methodology, and body of work. Studiofolios are published as permanent digital editions and prepared in print-ready formats.

A project feature focuses on an individual project and is published through editorial review. Project features do not constitute a Studiofolio publication and do not replace the Studiofolio editorial process.

Q4: Is there a fee to participate in Design Studiofolio™?
A: Participation models vary depending on the pathway. Studiofolio publications involve editorial, design, and production processes, and related costs are discussed following editorial review.

Online studio archive profiles and project features may follow different participation structures. Details are communicated directly once a studio’s application or submission has been reviewed.

Q5: How long does the editorial review process take?
A: Featured Studio applications and project submissions are typically reviewed within five to ten working days. Timelines may vary depending on submission volume and editorial scheduling.

Studios will be contacted directly if additional information is required or if a submission is selected for publication.

Q6: Can I submit projects if I am not a Featured Studio?
A: No. Project submissions are reviewed only from approved Featured Studios. Studios that are not yet part of Design Studiofolio™ should first apply through the Become a Featured Studio page.

Q7: Can projects under construction be submitted?
A: Yes. While Design Studiofolio™ primarily features completed projects, selected works under construction may be considered where scale, ambition, or design process offers meaningful editorial insight.

Final publication decisions remain at the discretion of the editorial team.

Q8: Can a Studiofolio or project feature be updated after publication?
A: Studiofolios are conceived as editorial publications and are updated through new editions rather than continuous revisions. Minor factual corrections may be accommodated where necessary.

Project features may be updated on a limited basis, subject to editorial review and approval.

Q9: Who retains the rights to the content and images?
A: All intellectual property rights remain with the studio and respective contributors. Design Studiofolio™ is granted permission to publish approved content for editorial presentation and related promotional use only.

Proper crediting is required for all images and submitted materials.

Q10: How are Studiofolios and projects promoted?
A: Published content may be shared across the Design Studiofolio™ platform and, where relevant, on affiliated editorial platforms such as Office Concept Design and Hotel & Resort Design.

PDistribution supports editorial reach and professional visibility but is not positioned as guaranteed marketing exposure.

Q11: Do you accept individual designers or freelancers?
A: Design Studiofolio™ focuses on established design studios. Individual practitioners may be considered where they operate as a recognised studio practice with a consistent body of work and professional structure.
