Text description provided by Arkadia Works. The design of Concentrix Office embraces a vibrant concept called “Dancing in Diversity.” This theme blends modern office aesthetics with the rich cultural traditions of Indonesia, particularly its heritage of traditional dance. The goal was to create a workspace that feels not only functional and innovative but also deeply rooted in cultural identity. Through material choices, spatial layout, and decorative elements, the design tells a story of unity in diversity.

As people step into the reception area, they are greeted by a warm and welcoming ambiance. Earthy tones and wood textures are intentionally used to evoke a sense of hospitality. The ceiling above the reception table features decorative umbrella elements, symbolizing the graceful movements found in traditional Indonesian dances. These umbrellas are more than aesthetic pieces; they are a reminder of cultural values and artistic expression.

The wooden partitions in the reception and working areas resemble dancing scarves, capturing the elegance and fluidity of dancers. These partitions serve both as visual dividers and as storytelling tools that enhance the office’s cultural narrative. By incorporating movement-inspired forms into the built environment, the design bridges modern functions with traditional symbolism.

Throughout the office, traditional dance elements are reflected in various forms. Wall graphics and ceiling decor represent items used in Indonesian dances such as hand fans, scarves, and umbrellas. Each of these elements is chosen for its cultural significance and visual appeal. For instance, hand fans are featured in the Meeting and Training Rooms, where communication and productivity take place. These rooms also utilize warm wooden textures and curved ceiling elements to create a comfortable and engaging atmosphere.

Cultural integration continues in the pantry area, where local design aesthetics take center stage. The space includes rattan chairs, Javanese antique pendant lamps, and colorful backsplash tiles featuring Tegel Kunci patterns. These choices celebrate Indonesia’s traditional design language while maintaining a fresh and modern look. The area is filled with vibrant colors that reflect the joy and community spirit often seen in local celebrations.

Sustainability also plays an important role in the design. One of the decorative wall installations is made using waste materials such as used bottles, caps, and cleaning product packaging. These are creatively arranged and painted to reflect Concentrix’s commitment to environmental awareness and the reuse of materials. This installation shows that sustainable practices and cultural storytelling can exist together in a commercial interior.

The space also features decorative art pieces that highlight Indonesia’s diverse dance traditions. Sixteen traditional dances from across the archipelago are represented in the interior design. These include the Pendet dance from Bali, the Gambyong dance from Central Java, the Tepak Sirih dance from Riau, and the Kipas Pakarena dance from South Sulawesi. Each dance element brings its own story, rhythm, and cultural meaning into the workspace.

In addition to aesthetic appeal, every element has a narrative function. In the staff area, partitions are kept low to balance privacy with open communication, while still displaying brand identity through graphics and color. The Barongan decorative wall represents mythical characters like Barong, a lion-like creature symbolizing good in Balinese folklore. It adds depth to the storytelling while enhancing visual engagement.

The design strategy for this office is rooted in harmony between tradition and innovation. Rather than simply placing cultural decorations, the approach weaves cultural elements into the very fabric of the office design. This method ensures the space does not just display heritage but truly lives and breathes it.

This project marks the fourth collaboration between Arkadia Works and Concentrix. With one of their previous projects earning three international awards, this continued partnership reflects deep trust in design quality and cultural sensitivity. The client’s confidence allowed the designers to fully explore a single concept without needing to propose alternative schemes.

“Dancing in Diversity” is more than just a design concept. It is a celebration of culture, identity, and unity. It brings traditional values into the modern workplace, showing how a culturally grounded environment can enhance user experience, creativity, and pride in one’s roots. The result is a space that feels not only beautiful and efficient but also meaningful.
